About Dr. Valentino
Dr. Anthony Valentino received his B.A. in English from Montclair State University, where he also received his M.A.T. He went on to earn an M.A. in English Literature from Monmouth University before a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) from Drew University. His dissertation, Finding Happiness in the Poor, Humble Cottage: “Contented Poverty” in Irish Novels from Famine to Free State, brought together his loves of literature, history, and Irish culture. Dr. Valentino holds catechist certification from the Diocese of Trenton, NJ.
He began his teaching career at St. Mary’s High School in South Amboy, NJ. After graduate school, he taught English at several community colleges, as well as Caldwell University, and he is the Irish language professor at Monmouth University. Dr. Valentino worked as an educator with the NJ State Department of Corrections before joining the faculty at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School.
