Welcome to the 2018-19 school year. I am honored, humbled, and enthused to lead St. Joseph Hill Academy as principal, a school and school community that I know well, that I love, and that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of as a teacher, dean of students, academic dean, and assistant principal for the past 30 years. I am so proud to have contributed and to have been involved in all aspects of the school; the academics, the spiritual life, the social aspects and the student activities, all with the goal of giving our students the best high school experience St. Joseph Hill Academy can provide. With the help of God and the Holy Spirit, along with our exceptional administration, faculty, and staff, we will continue to work together to maintain the high standards and expectations of St. Joseph Hill Academy in all areas; academic, spiritual, and social as we continue to educate the whole person.
It is an exciting time to be a Hilltopper. There are many added opportunities in stem, humanities, and the arts offered to students as our programs expand, including a television studio, digital electronics and digital arts, and broadcast journalism courses. I encourage our students to reach beyond their comfort zone, to take new courses, join new clubs, and to go out and serve our community. In accordance with our mission statement, we provide our students with the self-discipline and tools necessary to educate and empower young women to become confident independent thinkers with strong character and leadership qualities who stand ready to meet society’s challenges.
This year we proudly celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Daughters of Divine Charity, the order that founded this exceptional school, a school that has had a memorable impact on so many women. The year culminates with yet another celebration, that of the 100th anniversary of St. Joseph Hill Academy, the school.
I wish you a happy, healthy, memorable, and productive year. Stay positive and keep smiling. Please know that I am always here for you.
