Two Hill Seniors Awarded Posse Scholarships!

Two St. Joseph Hill Academy High School seniors, Emma Dinolfo and Kristen Farhat, were named Posse Scholars by The Posse Foundation this January 2023. Posse Scholars receive full-tuition four-year leadership scholarships worth approximately $245,000 for each student. St. Joseph Hill Academy congratulates Emma and Kristen on this incredible accomplishment!

Emma Dinolfo '23 plans to be on a Pre-Med Track at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania with a major in Biochemistry. Emma shared that, "receiving the Posse Scholarship was such exciting news for my family and I. Not only will I be receiving a full tuition scholarship to Lafayette College, but I will be surrounded by an incredibly supportive network of people, nationwide, for the entirety of my professional career. I am thankful that Hill provided me not only with a strong education, but with confidence and ambition, without which I would not have made it through the intense interview process."

Kristen Farhat '23 will attend Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut with a major in Economics and Finance. She feels the Posse Scholarship journey was an incredibly rewarding experience. Kristen said, "I am excited to be part of this community at Connecticut College and very thankful to Hill for giving me the opportunity and guidance throughout the process."

The Posse Foundation recognizes Scholars as students that “demonstrated incredible team skills, academic persistence, and a commitment to making a difference both in their own lives and in their community.”

Posse Scholars, like Emma and Kristen, enter colleges and universities in small, diverse groups known as “posses.” The Posse Foundation uniquely identifies young leaders with great potential for success at highly selective institutions. The Posse model is grounded in the idea that this small group of students will be an essential support system for each other throughout their four years at college.

Emma and Kristen celebrated this momentous achievement at an award ceremony in New York on January 18, 2023. Mrs. Maria Molluzzo, St. Joseph Hill Academy High School Principal, shared her “heartfelt congratulations to Emma and Kristen whose hard work culminated in Posse Scholarship awards. Emma and Kristen’s Hill family takes pride in all they have yet to accomplish.”

Since 2010, eight St. Joseph Hill Academy graduates have now received Posse Scholarships, totaling over $1.5 million in Posse scholarship funding for Hilltoppers. St. Joseph Hill Academy Director of College Counseling Mrs. Kerry Sullivan reflected, “We are so proud of Emma and Kristen and so grateful to the Posse Foundation for providing this wonderful opportunity to students.  It makes such a difference in their lives.”
