Benefactor Scholarship Application for Incoming Class of 2029

St. Joseph Hill Academy offers several Benefactor Scholarships to incoming freshmen, funded by generous donors. Each scholarship has specific eligibility criteria and varying award amounts. 

  • Benefactor Scholarship Applications Open: October 7, 2024

  • Eligibility: Review the criteria for each scholarship and apply if you meet the requirements.

  • Financial Aid Form Deadline: December 16, 2024. Please note, all applicants, with the exception of those who are applying for the Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley Scholarship, must complete the financial aid form on FACTS to be considered for any benefactor scholarship or additional financial aid. Benefactor Scholarship recipients will also be considered for additional financial aid, which can be combined with the scholarship.

Available Scholarships:

  1. Costa Family Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $5,000 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

  2. Daughters of Divine Charity Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $5,000 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

  3. The Dorothy Skiba Pisarski Scholarship Fund read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $1,000 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

  4. Holy Family Province Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $2,500 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

  5. Jeanine R. Khoury Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $2,500 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

  6. Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley Scholarship read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: 80% of tuition per year, for 4 years (3 recipients)

  7. Sister M. Charlotte Gulban, F.D.C. Memorial Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $5,000 per year, for 4 years

  8. Sister M. William McGovern, F.D.C. Scholarship (read here for additional information and defined criteria for earning and maintaining this scholarship) Award: $2,500 per year, for 4 years (1 recipient)

Please write an essay (250-500 words) that describes the factors that motivated you to apply to St. Joseph Hill Academy and why you feel that you will be a valuable addition to the Hill family. Discuss a challenge you have faced and how you overcame this challenge, preparing you to be an asset to St. Joseph Hill Academy.

Discuss a special attribute, experience or accomplishment that sets you apart, and why. Tell us how you have used your talents and passions to bring people together or influence positive change.

 

Daughters of Divine Charity Scholarship

Please write an essay (250-500 words) answering the guidelines below:

The mission of the Daughters of Divine Charity is to serve others and make God's love visible in the world. Given the opportunity to attend St. Joseph Hill Academy, how would you use your past experience along with the knowledge and experience you gain at St. Joseph Hill Academy to make God's love visible in the world?

 

The Dorothy Skiba Pisarski Scholarship Fund

St. Joseph Hill Academy prides itself in the education and development of young women who will represent the qualities of leadership, community service and integrity. In a separate document, please write an essay answering the guidelines below:

  1. A short essay (200-300 words) that describes a recent experience or accomplishment that sets you apart in your successful studies of mathematics, and share a vision for how you might intentionally use mathematics in your future education or profession.
  2. A short reflection (200-300 words) on what has led you to active participation in the life of your parish and what most enhances your faith from those experiences.

 

Holy Family Province Scholarship

As an almost graduate of the St. Joseph Hill Academy Elementary School, please share how being a member of the Hill community has shaped you not only academically, but as a person of faith in God and service to your community.  Include in your essay (250-500 words), the factors that motivated you to apply to St. Joseph Hill Academy High School and why you feel that you will be a valuable addition to the High School family.

Sister M. William McGovern, F.D.C. Scholarship

What does your Catholic faith mean to you and what is its importance in your life? Please discuss in your essay (250-500 words) any challenges or obstacles you have encountered and overcome in life and how this will help you succeed in high school and beyond. Please also briefly explain why it is important to you to attend St. Joseph Hill Academy High School and why you plan to pursue our Humanities Pathway.

 

Sister M. Charlotte Gulban Memorial Scholarship

St. Joseph Hill Academy High School values and appreciates the thousands of outstanding alumnae who are emblematic of the academic excellence, Catholic values and long- standing traditions of our school. Based on what your family member has shared with you about her experiences as a student at St. Joseph Hill Academy, please write an essay (250-500 words) on what it means to you to be a Hilltopper and how you will not only benefit from you time at Hill, but also how you will bring benefit to Hill.
