Virtual Learning at Hill

SJHA PreK 3 through 12th grade moved to virtual learning in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by SJHA Elementary School Principal Mr. Lawrence Hansen and SJHA High School Principal Mrs. Maria Molluzzo, teachers of every grade were immediately trained on best practices and technologies for virtual learning. Read more about the challenges they've overcome, new technologies they are utilizing, and how they have worked to give students the best virtual experience possible.

Hill Seniors Remain Undaunted as they Prepare for College in the Fall

The college admissions process went smoothly this past fall, and the 119 members of the Class of 2020 were accepted into 189 colleges, with academic scholarship monies totaling $41.5 million. The college decision-making process has been more difficult, however, when the opportunity to attend live accepted students’ days shifted to virtual experiences in mid- March, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Mrs. Kerry Sullivan ‘81, Hill’s Director of College Counseling, this unprecedented crisis has presented new questions and challenges.

Hill Alumnus Donates New Sound and Lighting System

Mr. Peter J. Shudtz, SJHA Elementary School alumnus, made a generous gift to update the Academy's sound and lighting system. Mr. Hansen says, “this new addition gives us the opportunity to continue to support the students in their faith so that we can hold masses and prayer services without difficulty and we can continue to expand our plays and performances.”

Congratulations to Hill HS Juniors Emily DeChristine and Jacqliene Mangini on their 2020 Roger Rees Award nominations!

How you can help Hill students

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many families in the Hill community, though some have been hit harder financially than others. St. Joseph Hill Academy is committed to the education, spiritual growth, and development of all our students. A Student Emergency Fund has been created to provide tuition assistance and financial support to our current Hill families to help them persevere during these challenging times.
