To maintain social distancing, Hill has created two distinct, separate cohorts which will alternate between three and two days per week of in-person instruction. When learning remotely at home, students will livestream into their classes for synchronous learning using their laptops.

Half of the students will be on campus during any given school day. Students may opt to learn from home full-time, for five full days of remote instruction per week for the entire marking period, by parent choice.

TRADITION AND ADVANCEMENTS

Hill has continued to uphold timeless Catholic school traditions that are cherished by students and alumnae while maintaining health and safety. Hill administration, faculty, and staff have a strong commitment to do their best to give students what they would experience during normal times. With that in mind, Hill has safely and successfully held:
  • a week of socially distanced and virtual graduation events for the Class of 2020;
  • a Ring Ceremony for the Class of 2021; and
  • a Freshmen Orientation for the Class of 2024.
And amidst the pandemic and massive reopening planning, Hill High School has continued to make advancements to our School. Hill has added new opportunities in STEM, Humanities, and the Arts, as Hill's course offerings and programs expand for the 2020-2021 year. This year will also see the addition of a new performing arts studio, along with additional courses including biomedical engineering, AP Physics, and college level psychology. To nourish the spiritual needs of students, a renovation of the school chapel is underway.

SAFETY

Hill's students and teachers are well-versed in the daily use of technology for remote learning. This allowed our emphasis in the past few months to be focused on safety preparations.

We have installed RGF Air Purification units, thermoscanners, and touchless faucets, paper towel, soap, and anti-bacterial dispensers throughout the High School building. And we have undergone and passed all inspections.
