Record-Breaking Success: St. Joseph Hill Academy Annual Golf Outing, Tennis Open and Honoree Reception Raises A Quarter of a Million Dollars

A Day of Community, Competition, and Commitment to Our Future

On Monday, June 23, 2025, the St. Joseph Hill Academy community came together for an extraordinary day at the Richmond County Country Club that exceeded all expectations.  Our Annual Golf Outing & Tennis Open, followed by the Honoree Reception, was a tremendous success, achieving record-breaking fundraising totals with a quarter of a million dollars raised in mission-critical funding.

Our recent event was a tremendous success, marking a record in fundraising to support critical campus improvements. The day brought together 144 golfers for friendly competition on the course and 36 tennis players who enjoyed engaging matches and clinics. In the evening, 240 dinner guests were treated to the exceptional cuisine of the Richmond County Country Club. Adding to the excitement, we celebrated a total of 95 raffle winners—including 17 Super Raffle winners and 78 raffle basket winners.

Celebrating Our 2025 Honorees

We were privileged to honor exceptional members of the St. Joseph Hill Academy community whose dedication embodies the Hill spirit:

Khoury Scholarship Fund and the Sr. M. Charlotte Gulban, F.D.C. Scholarship, ensuring future generations have access to the transformative Hill experience. Ms. Khoury also proudly serves as a member of Hill’s Board of Trustees.

Jeanine and John Tardy

The proud grandparents of current Hill students, this dynamic couple built JVN Restoration Inc. into one of New York City's largest environmental companies. Jeanine and John have been married for 38 years and have been working together for 23. They embody the values of family, hard work, and community service that define the Hill family.

Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley ES '56, HS '60

A true "Hill lifer" whose connection to our school spans nearly seven decades, Mrs. O’Malley earned her R.N. from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing.  Mrs. O'Malley dedicated her life to healthcare and philanthropy. Her transformative Mary Lucey O'Malley Scholarship Program—the largest gift from an alumna in Hill's 100+ year history—provides scholarship opportunities for daughters of registered nurses and first responders.

Introducing The Hilltop Restoration Fund

"Stewards of the Summit: Preserving Our Legacy. Building Our Future"

At St. Joseph Hill Academy, our mission is rooted in faith, tradition, academic excellence, and service. For over a century, under the direction of the Daughters of Divine Charity, our campus has stood as a beacon of private, Catholic education on the hilltop."

At the evening's Honoree Reception, Dr. Elizabeth Basile, Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations proudly announced the launch of the St. Joseph Hill Academy  Hilltop Restoration Fund, a transformative initiative dedicated to preserving and restoring the buildings and grounds that have shaped the Hill experience for so many and committed to the promise that our beloved campus—our classrooms, athletic spaces, and historic facilities—remain strong, safe, and beautiful for the students of today and tomorrow.  According to Dr. Basile, “These projects are not cosmetic—they are essential. Without these upgrades, we risk interruptions in daily learning, increased maintenance costs, and diminished capacity to serve our students with the excellence they deserve.”
