This Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships among approximately 1.5 million high school students annually.
"Anika's selection as a National Merit Semifinalist does not surprise me given her motivation and intellectual curiosity. We are also particularly proud that she was the only National Merit Semifinalist named among all Staten Island Catholic High Schools this year," said SJHA High School Principal Mrs. Maria Molluzzo.
As a National Merit Semifinalist, Anika is in the top 1% percent of all students nationally and will now compete for one of the 7,250 National Merit Scholarships sponsored by universities and corporations.
