Hill Class of 2022 Graduation

The St. Joseph Hill Academy Class of 2022 Graduation Liturgy and Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Bishop John O’Hara presided over the Hill Graduation Liturgy at Our Lady Star of the Sea this evening and told the Graduates, as they ready themselves for college, “Jesus will be with you… Even if you let go of Him, He never lets go of us.”

Ashley Maloy, the recipient of the Bronze Medal for Academic Distinction, delivered the Farewell Dedication. Hill, she said, “transformed me into a better daughter, friend, student and person.” She thanked the administration, faculty, and parents for their unending support and told her classmates the friendships they developed over these four years were, “the most meaningful and important part of my experience at Hill.”

The Awards Ceremony followed the Graduation Liturgy with awards distributed to exemplary students for their commitment to service, the arts, and to achieving Summum Bonum (the highest good). We congratulate all the awardees for their well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations to the St. Joseph Hill Academy Class of 2022 on their graduation! The 99 seniors walked up the hill one last time on Friday, June 3, 2022 empowered by their education and experiences and with confidence that they are prepared for all that awaits them.

“Hill will be a part of each and every one of your success stories forever,” said St. Joseph Hill Academy 2022 Commencement Speaker, Dr. Lauren N. Costa, ‘98.

The Class of 2022 has shown deep, unwavering support for each other through their happier days and their darker days. It is the rich friendships that have transformed them, comforted them, and that will continue after tonight.

“The friends we made taught us to be kind, strong, and confident. Our friends inspire us to be the best version of ourselves. They help us pick up our paintbrush and create a canvas that we can be proud of and excited to present to the world,” said Valedictorian Josie Wong.

And Dr. Costa’s encouraging words rang truest, “You leave here today knowing you are ready for whatever path you choose. Hill has undoubtedly fostered in you the confidence needed to reach for opportunities. It has encouraged you to develop your own voice and to be that advocate you deserve and will need… your Hill family is your foundation, your community, your support system… never forget your Hill family… we are always there for you.” #hillclassof2022
