Scholarship Opportunities for Incoming Freshmen

St. Joseph Hill Academy High School proudly offers two exceptional scholarship programs for incoming freshmen: our prestigious Merit Scholarships and our generous Benefactor Scholarships.

Why do we do this? Because we believe in you! We're committed to recognizing outstanding academic achievement and ensuring that bright, motivated students have access to a top-tier Catholic education. We offer multiple full and partial Merit Scholarships to qualified students and we have 10 Benefactor Scholarships. The best part? You can apply for the Benefactor Scholarships and take the exam for the Merit Scholarships simultaneously, making you eligible for consideration in both programs!

Merit Scholarships at St. Joseph Hill Academy:
 
Eligibility: To be considered, students must take the Hill Merit Scholarship Exam on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 3:30 pm and select St. Joseph Hill Academy as their 1st or 2nd choice on the TACHS Exam (code 223).
 
Criteria: Merit Scholarships are awarded based on:
  • Performance on the Hill Merit Scholarship Exam
  • TACHS test results
  • Middle school academic achievements
 
Notification: Recipients will be informed through their admissions packet, which is sent out on January 22, 2025.
 
Scholarship Types: Multiple full and partial scholarships are available for qualified students.
 
Financial Aid: Merit-based scholarship recipients can also apply for additional financial aid, which can be combined with the scholarship.
 
What do you need for the Exam? Two pencils and one pen. Please note, there is no test preparation required for this Scholarship Exam, as it will test you on skills you have received throughout Middle School.

Benefactors Scholarships at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School:

St. Joseph Hill Academy offers several Benefactor Scholarships to incoming freshmen, funded by generous donors. The scholarships have specific eligibility criteria, an application process, and varying award amounts. 

 

Applications Open: October 7, 2024
 
Eligibility: Review the criteria for each scholarship and apply if you meet the requirements.
 
Financial Aid Form Deadline: December 16, 2024
(All applicants, except those who apply for the Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley Scholarship only, must complete the financial aid form on FACTS to be considered for any benefactor scholarship or additional financial aid.) Benefactor Scholarship recipients will also be considered for additional financial aid, which can be combined with the scholarship.
 
Applications are due: December 16, 2024
 
Notification: Recipients will be informed through their admissions packet, which is sent out on January 22, 2025.
Please note:
  • Incoming freshmen may apply for both Hill Merit Scholarships and Hill Benefactor Scholarships, but can only receive one type. Students are encouraged to take the merit scholarship exam and apply for any benefactor scholarships for which they meet the criteria. However, if selected, a student will be awarded either a merit scholarship or a benefactor scholarship, not both.
  • External scholarships can be combined with any Hill Scholarship to cover tuition costs.
  • Students who receive either a Hill Merit Scholarship and a Hill Benefactor Scholarship are also eligible to apply for financial aid, which can be added to their Hill Scholarship.
