March 2025: Get to Know Our Honorees: Celebrating Excellence at the Annual SJHA Golf Outing & Tennis Open

The Annual St. Joseph Hill Academy Golf Outing and Tennis Open is a mission-critical event supporting our school community's growth and development. The funds raised help provide essential resources that enhance the educational experience for our students, ensuring we continue to offer a well-rounded, high-quality Catholic education. Under the direction of the Daughters of Divine Charity, SJHA continues to grow and evolve, and this event plays a key role in ensuring that we maintain an optimal learning environment for our treasured students. The proceeds help fund important campus improvements that enrich the student experience, allowing SJHA to remain a place where young minds thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

In 2023, we introduced a new tradition of honoring individuals who truly embody the spirit and mission of St. Joseph Hill Academy. Each year, we celebrate those who exemplify the values that make our school so special. This year, we are proud to honor a remarkable group of individuals: Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley ES'56, HS'60, Jeanine R. Khoury '78, and John and Jeanine Tardy, SJHA Grandparents, for their unwavering dedication and continued support of our Academy. Their commitment to SJHA is truly inspiring, and we are deeply grateful for all they do.

Mary Alice Lucey O'MalleyMrs. Mary Alice Lucey O'Malley, a lifelong member of the Hill community, has exemplified the values of service, dedication, and leadership throughout her distinguished career. Mrs. O’Malley knows the importance of giving back and providing support to a new generation of young women who are attending her alma mater. In recognition of Hill’s Centennial year, Mrs. O’Malley provided an extraordinarily generous and transformative donation that remains the largest gift from an alumna in Hill’s 100+ year history, allowing us to establish The Mary Alice Lucey O’Malley Scholarship Program. The scholarship is offered to entering Freshmen who are the daughters of registered nurses and/or first responders and is presented to three students annually. Her exceptional career as a Registered Nurse, combined with her involvement in various medical, educational, and charitable organizations, makes her a true role model.

Mrs. O’Malley has been married to Thomas D. O’Malley, a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and Manhattan College, for 60 years. They are proud parents of four adult children and grandparents of twelve. Mr. and Mrs. O’Malley have been ardent supporters of a number of charitable causes and have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to ensuring the success of organizations that provide quality Catholic education.

Mrs. O'Malley’s ongoing dedication to her alma mater and her leadership in volunteerism perfectly embody the spirit of SJHA, and we are proud to celebrate her legacy of service.

Jeanine KhouryMs. Jeanine R. Khoury, a 1978 graduate of St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, is being honored for her exceptional career and philanthropic achievements. After earning her B.A. from the University of Rochester and an MBA in Finance while working full-time, Jeanine spent over 40 years in Financial Services, including roles at JPMorgan Chase and as a Managing Director at Brown Brothers Harriman before retiring. She has also shown a deep commitment to service through mentoring with the United Way of NYC and Rock the Street, Wall Street, organizations encouraging young women to pursue finance careers. Jeanine serves on the Board of Trustees for SJHA and the Alumni Board for the University of Rochester and has established scholarships at Hill, including the Jeanine R. Khoury Scholarship and the Sr. M. Charlotte Gulban, F.D.C. Memorial Scholarship. Additionally, she is an avid tennis player and a leader on the Westerleigh Tennis Board, reflecting her ongoing dedication to both her community and personal passions.

Jeanine and John TardyMrs. Jeanine and Mr. John Tardy are being honored for their dedication to both family and community. Proud grandparents of St. Joseph Hill Academy students CJ and Nico, they have been deeply involved with SJHA as well as with their own community. For over 23 years, they have built JVN Restoration Inc. into one of New York City's leading environmental companies. Married for 38 years, Jeanine and John are committed to giving back and have supported numerous boards and committees, including the Environmental Contractors Association, SIUH/Northwell Health, and the St. George Theatre. Their dedication to service, guided by the principle of Karma, has made a meaningful impact on the lives of many. Jeanine and John are truly deserving of this recognition, and we are grateful for their ongoing support of our Academy and community.
